God promised this favor to His people even while they were still enslaved in Egypt, unarmed and powerless. But the Lord told Moses they should not be discouraged by these conditions, for He was about to intervene in their circumstances.
God’s promise of favor might have seemed impossible to those who had lived in bondage for so many years. Yet His Word proved to be completely true.
In fact, after Pharaoh granted their freedom, the people of Egypt willingly gave the Israelites “articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing.” Demonstrating the fulfillment of His Word, the Bible tells us, “The LORD had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians” (Exodus 12:35-36).
This is what can happen when God grants His favor. Favor opens doors and makes the impossible possible. For example, we see what happened when Esther “obtained favor” and her people were saved (Esther 5:2). We read how Mary “found favor with God” (Luke 1:30) and how, even in His youth, Jesus “kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men” (Luke 2:52).
God can grant this favor at any time, to any person. The Bible says, “It is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield” (Psalm 5:12). This favor provides us with protection and blessing as we seek to please Him.
Today, ask God to grant you His favor. For your family, finances, health, relationships, and spiritual life. He even can give you favor with your enemies!
God’s favor can open doors and enable you to accomplish things beyond your natural abilities. It can bring you protection and provision, even when your circumstances may seem hopeless. This favor is the supernatural blessing of God. May you be found pleasing in His sight, so you might receive His favor!
